Onomo Hotels

‘We want them all to look the same but different’.

Easily adaptable modular system that enforces a strong brand identity yet still allows a unique experience.

Development is booming on the African continent and the demand is growing. That is why ONOMO needed to design a new hotel brand experience that would satisfy the dynamism of a new pan-African and international business clientele: a high level of comfort at an affordable price. Optimization of services, accessibility, connectivity and security - All inspired by the eminent qualities of African culture and in harmony with the natural and local environment.

Our roll-out proposal for ONOMO Hotels is a concept that embodies the spirit of Africa yet adapts to each of its respective culture.

It is a design that is instantly recognizable where ever you are, unique and cost effective, logistically efficient and produced in Africa.

Our proposal was an open ended Kit of Parts which employs the cubic form as its basis.

The cube is then adapted and transformed to suit the many programmatic functions of the hotel experience from check-in to chilling.

Interchangeable images that reflect the colors, textures and patterns of each respective place are applied to the exterior facades of the cubes.

In turn the cubes take on the flavors of the country where they are located.

ONOMO currently runs five hotels in Africa in Dakar (Senegal), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Libreville (Gabon), Lomé (Togo) and Bamako (Mali). Onomo is majority-owned by Batipart whose goal is to develop a Pan-African brand with 20 hotels within 10 years across the continent.
